County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on S. 2271 (Jack Reed-D-RI), the Museum and Library Services Act, that seeks to reauthorize the core programs administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) that includes the Museum Services Act and the Library Services Technology Act (LSTA), which provides more than $183 million in funding through the Grants to States program.

County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on SB 830 (Dodd), a bill requiring the State Board of Education to ensure that a model curriculum for media- related literacy education is developed and adopted for social science curricula.

County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on AB 1772 (Aguiar-Curry) that seeks to provide wildfire victims an additional year to rebuild their homes and businesses after a catastrophic wildfire and collect the full replacement cost coverage to which they are entitled.

County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on SB 824 (Lara) that seeks to prevent insurance companies from dropping or non-renewing customers following a wildfire disaster.

County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on SB 894 (Dodd) that would require insurers to renew policies for disaster victims for a minimum of two years following the loss of a home. The bill would also require companies to report to the Insurance Commissioner if they subsequently non-renew policies or pull out of a market.

County Executive Officer seeks discussion and possible action on SB 901 (Dodd) that would require investor- and municipally-owned electric utilities to include in their wildfire mitigation plans, policies and procedures for determining if, when and where to de-energize a power line in extreme weather events, for the purpose of preventing a wildfire.
